Pricing

The core POS is free. Optional add-ons (unlimited sales history, employee management, advanced inventory) cost US$9 to US$25 a month per store, and Loyverse says its prices exclude taxes. Treat these figures as a starting point and ask for a written quote.

EFTPOS & payments in NZ

Loyverse integrates with Shift4 (formerly Smartpay) EFTPOS terminals, sending the sale amount automatically, but only on iOS devices. With a Windcave or Eftpos NZ terminal, or on Android, staff key the amount into the terminal. Card fees: Set by your EFTPOS provider (Loyverse doesn’t process cards). Confirm your exact terminal model before signing.

What it does well

✓ Useful free core plan

✓ Runs on Android and iOS devices

✓ Keeps selling when the internet drops

Where it falls short

— Integrated EFTPOS is Shift4 on iOS only

— Xero only through a third-party connector

— Integrated card terminals and refunds stop working offline

Who should skip Loyverse

Busy counters on Windcave or Eftpos NZ terminals, or on Android, where staff would retype every EFTPOS amount.
